Amazon to Launch Monthly Prime Membership in the UK

James-May-Jeremy-Clarkson-and-Richard-Hammond

Good news for UK residents! Amazon customers in the UK will soon be able to pay for their Prime subscription on a monthly basis! This move brings Amazon closer to rivals Netflix and Now TV. The monthly subscription will allow users to pay just £7.99 a month for their subscription, instead of a one-time upfront payment of £79 a year. The monthly payments are an alternative to customers who have been put off by the annual fee and want the flexibility of being able to cancel at any given time. Amazon continues to look for new ways to enhance the shopping experience and Prime membership for customers!

amazon-plane-3-630x453

Did you hear? Amazon is making plans to take as much as a 30 percent stake in Atlas Freight Airline, a large cargo airline. This would be the second deal this year as Amazon takes giant leaps to step up it’s efforts to take control of delivery logistics. Why make such big leaps? Amazon wants to continue to expand its Prime service and is planning to bring it to every major market. Bringing the delivery and transportation in-house allows them to speed up the process of bringing same-day delivery across the world.

Amazon to Help European Vendors Sell Across Borders

FBA-EU
Amazon is on a mission to help every seller in Europe sell to every costumer in Europe. They are offering to deliver vendors’ goods to customers in other European Union countries. The sellers on Amazon Marketplace can now ship inventory to one of Amazon’s 29 distribution centers in Europe, where Amazon will store the goods for them. When the sellers receive an order from a customer in another country, Amazon will ship the order to the buyer’s home. Sellers using the service will pay a fee, but this will open the door for major sales across the continent for sellers, large and small!

Amazon Pledges to Bring Same-Day Delivery to Bronx

7909767_G

Amazon.com Inc. will bring free same-day delivery to the Bronx, which is the only New York City borough currently excluded. Amazon said earlier this week that they are actively working to enable service in the Bronx in the coming weeks. Once the expansion is completed, Prime members in every zip code in New York City will receive Prime Free Same-Day Delivery. The expansion comes after criticism that Amazon unfairly left out minority communities. Amazon argues that service boundaries were determined by the concentration of Prime members in each area, proximity to warehouses where goods are stored and the company’s availability to find delivery partners to serve an area.

Amazon Helping the Homeless in Seattle

160414141426-amazon-homeless-shelter-780x439

It’s great to deal with a company that gives back. Amazon is turning over an empty building near its new Seattle headquarters to a local organization for use as a homeless shelter for the next year. The shelter is expected to house about 200 homeless people in a city where homelessness has become a huge problem. It’s a wonderful gesture from this e-commerce giant!
